Fish Tales is located on a delayed harvest section of the Tuckasegee River. This is a catch and release only with single hook artificial lures from Oct 1 until the first Saturday in June. This section is stocked with 49,000 trout during this time. (Click here to go to Coldwater Stocking. Click on Jackson County to find out how many brook, brown or rainbow trout that the N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission plans to stock this year.) October thru May offers the best trout fishing in the Southeast on this section of the River.
